Nate Andersen (N8) is a versatile pianist based in New York City whose style and presence has been on the New York scene for over a decade. His gained recent acclimation for his songwriting rich in swing, deep in lyricism and full of love. From monsters to mushrooms, Nate’s childlike wonder covers the human experience and intellect through his music, all the while including the audience in his love for it all. Andersen has gained notoriety within the community participating in the New York City Master Chorale, Off Broadway musicals and has performed in prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Rockwood Music Hall, and has also performed internationally fr playing in festivals including the inaugural year of Hong Kong’s FreeSpace Jazz Festival. Beyond his performance life, Nate Andersen is a highly respected educator in New York City, and has served as a musical director for projects by Manhattan Youth, New York Department of Education, The Hudson River Project, and more.

Nate Andersen has been inspiring and instructing young musicians for the past decade at Manhattan Music, New York.

He personally oversees the education and training of over 100 students per school year, educating them in various musical proceedings such as sight reading, ear training, jazz and classical composition/arranging.
